[Title]
High-Altitude Helium Detection at Venus Using Hisaki EUV Spectroscopy
[Abstract]
My work looks at Venus’s exospheric helium trace using far-ultraviolet (FUV) observations from the Hisaki satellite. Hisaki’s sensitivity to high-altitude line-of-sight emissions (~300 km) makes it ideal for detecting lighter elements such as helium, which shows large scale heights. By isolating disk and sky emissions from March 2014 and applying background subtraction, I extract brightness trends in the He I 584 Å emission. These results are evaluated alongside Lyman-alpha and oxygen emissions to assess compositional variability and improve our understanding of atmospheric escape processes in Venus’s upper atmosphere.
