- Research Subjects
1. Fine-scale auroral structures obtained by the multi-spectral auroral camera (MAC) and particle sensors (ESA/ISA) onboard the REIMEI (INDEX) satellite.
2. Planetary observation by an infrared (1 - 5 microns) camera using an InSb 2D array for the remote-sensing of planetary atmospheres with a ground-based telescope.
3. Development of optical instruments onboard satellites and balloons: the infrared camera onboard the Venus Climate Orbiter (Planet-C), the visible imager (UPI/TVIS) onboard the SELENE spacecraft, and the planetary telescope.
4. Participate in small and/or micro satellite projects, its design and preliminary tests: , Rising (Sprite-sat), and Mesosphere-Thermoshere-Ionosphere satellite.
5. Dynamical variations of the thermosphereic winds and temperatures associated with auroral activities, and their relationship to ionospheric plasma motions obtained by a Fabyry-Perot Doppler Imager (Syowa-FPDIS) and HF/VHF radars at Syowa station, Antarctica.
6. ULF/ELF geomagnetic pulsations at middle latitudes using search coil magnetometer data obtained at Onagawa.
